In France, it’s customary to wish a Happy New Year up until the 31st January, so I don’t feel bad for it being half way through the month already.

With the times that we are living in, I hope that you had a decent break over the Christmas period - not much in the way of travel or socialising, but perhaps a chance to relax, really relax and in turn to work out how you want 2021 to shape up.

I like a slower start to the year - like a warm up - so don’t feel you need to have hit the ground running (literally or metaphorically). With weather and light conditions conspiring against any form of encouragement, it can be hard to get outside and get moving, even though we know the benefits. So right now, do what you can and try and build up a habit - no matter how small. I’m motivating myself through the Cricket Without Boundaries Rwanda Ramble - a Team effort to cover a 350 mile route around Rwanda learning about the work of Ambassadors and CWB projects that happen there. You can find out more about it here and if you are able a donation to support the ongoing work would be greatly appreciated.

No face to face massage services, but running coaching can continue

In other news, under current Government guidelines, I’m not allowed to practice massage as it falls under the category of close contact therapy, but I am still available for online consultations or for advice on treatment for any pain you might be feeling.

In terms of running, 1:1 coaching can still take place (subject to travel restrictions) and of course online coaching can still take place. Both of these options will help you with motivation, accountability and safe training. Do contact me to find out how it works or for any other advice on your running.

The days are getting longer. The sun has made an appearance twice in the last week. Vaccines are being administered. Even though it feels hard, there is hope. Celebrate the small wins and keep your body moving.
